Welcome to HMM – More than a Mission Trip!

Hispaniola Mountain Ministries (HMM) partners with local churches across the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and also supports work in Cuba and Honduras, to share the gospel and strengthen communities.

We do it through three connected steps:

Encourage communities through the local church by providing medical clinics, water wells, homes, schools, & more ;

Equip believers through Bible studies and retreats; and

Empower local leaders through pastor training and church planting. The result is sustainable, locally led ministry that keeps growing long after a team goes home.

Whether you're looking to join a mission team, support our work, or learn more about how God is using HMM to make an eternal impact, we're excited to connect with you. Together, we can spread hope, build relationships, and share the life-changing message of the Gospel.

WHERE WE SERVE

Anse-a-Pitres Haiti

Anse-à-Pitres, located on the southern border of Haiti, is a vital hub for ministry in the region. Home to an HMM-operated school and medical clinic, Anse- à-Pitres provides a unique opportunity for mission teams to engage in impactful work, including education, healthcare, and spiritual outreach for the entire region. Serving here allows teams to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the people while also fostering lasting relationships and sharing the gospel.

Barahona, Dominican Republic

Barahona, located on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, offers a unique opportunity for impactful ministry and cultural immersion. While the region is known for its natural beauty—from mountains to coastlines—many areas within Barahona face ongoing challenges such as poverty, limited infrastructure, and lack of access to essential resources. These realities make it an ideal setting for mission work focused on community development, spiritual growth, and strengthening local churches.

Pedernales, Dominican Republic

Pedernales offers a unique blend of natural beauty and ministry opportunities. Known for its stunning beaches and proximity to the Haitian border, Pedernales is an ideal location for mission work focused on community development, healthcare, and supporting local churches and their outreach efforts. Serving in Pedernales allows mission teams to engage with both Dominican and Haitian communities, building relationships and sharing the gospel while addressing practical needs.

Polo, Dominican Republic

Polo, a picturesque mountain town in the Dominican Republic, is renowned for its coffee production, cooler climate, and tranquil atmosphere. This scenic setting offers a peaceful yet impactful environment for ministry and cultural engagement, making it an ideal location for mission work.

Santiago, Dominican Republic

Santiago, a vibrant inland city and the second-largest in the Dominican Republic, is one of HMM’s newest ministry location. Your support helps bring pastor training, community outreach, and the love of Christ to this thriving urban center and its surrounding rural areas.

From the Heart of HMM

January 27, 2026
Dear Friends and Partners, As we reflect on 2025, one picture continues to shape our gratitude. In the Dominican Republic we stood with local leaders on newly planted coffee land, imagining how this work could bless families and churches for years to come. In Cuba we sat in a simple church with pastors gathered closely around open Bibles, asking thoughtful questions and praying with deep sincerity. In Honduras we watched church leaders lean forward in learning, clearly hungry to serve their people with greater faithfulness. In all three places, it was unmistakable that God was at work and that His work was far bigger than any one of us. Because of your generosity, 2025 was a year of meaningful growth for HMM. We expanded into new locations in Cuba and Honduras and launched three new pastor training cohorts in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Honduras. Today, 80 pastors are actively being trained to shepherd their churches with greater depth, wisdom, and faithfulness. We have also rejoiced over several new church plants across multiple countries, each one a reminder that lives are being transformed through the Gospel. We are grateful as well for the ministry in Haiti, which continues to be fruitful and strong because it is locally led. Haitian leaders are faithfully caring for their communities and carrying the mission forward with courage and commitment, even amid ongoing challenges. In the Dominican Republic, our coffee initiative continues to move forward. This effort is about more than coffee. It is about opportunity, dignity, and long term impact for local families. We are anticipating our first harvest this fall, and in the meantime our HMM blend is already available through Northshore.coffee for anyone who would like to support the ministry in this tangible way. As we step into 2026, we are excited about new teams joining HMM and new doors God is opening. Above all, we are deeply grateful for you. Your giving, your prayers, and your willingness to go make this work possible. Truly, we could not do ministry without your partnership. Thank you for walking with us and trusting God alongside us. We are honored to serve with you and eager to see what He will do in the year ahead. Thank you for being a part.
June 16, 2025
As we step into the heart of the year, I’m filled with gratitude for the doors God is opening—and for your continued prayers, support, and partnership in the Great Commission. Thisspring, we launched two exciting pastoral training initiatives: one in Santiago, Dominican Republic and the other in eastern Cuba. In both locations, local leaders gathered with deep hunger to grow in their knowledge of the Word and strengthen their calling. In Santiago, we partnered with local churchesto equip new pastors with practical toolsfor discipleship and community engagement. In Cuba, we witnessed firsthand the resilience of pastors ministering in difficult environments—men eager to lead with clarity, conviction, and renewed confidence. These efforts matter. When we invest in local leaders, we invest in the future of their communities. Thanksto yoursupport, that impact continuesto multiply. Looking ahead, we’re excited to send multiple mission teamsthissummer to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Honduras. These volunteers—from churches acrossthe U.S.—willserve through construction, medical outreach, children’s ministry, evangelism, and leadership development. Their willingnessto go and serve asthe hands and feet of Christ is both humbling and inspiring. Please join usin praying—forsafe travels, unity among our teams, and spiritual fruit in every place we serve and continue to lift up the pastors and churches we’re walking alongside. God is at work, and we’re honored to be part of the story He’s writing.
